Quick reference guide to public interest disclosures
- Public interest disclosures can be made to VGSO where the disclosure: - relates to the conduct of VGSO or its employees, or
- is made by a VGSO employee
 
- A public interest disclosure can be about: - improper conduct engaged in by a person, public officer or public body
- detrimental action taken by a public officer or public body against a person in reprisal for a public interest disclosure
 
- Orally or in writing. To get the protections in the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2012 a disclosure to VGSO must follow the procedures outlined in the document Making and Handling Public Interest Disclosures.
